Use Android Auto with NUNAV Bus

🔧 Requirements

• An Android smartphone with Android 8.0 or higher
• The latest version of the NUNAV Bus App (from the Google Play Store)
• A car or car radio with Android Auto support
• An active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)

📲 Connect

1. Connect your smartphone to the car (via USB cable or wirelessly – depending on the vehicle).
2. Android Auto starts automatically on your vehicle's display.
3. Tap the NUNAV icon to open the app.

🗺️ Start Navigation

1. Enter destination: You can choose the destination directly via voice input, the list of recent destinations, or through the search (magnifying glass).
   
   
   
2. View route overview: The app automatically calculates the best route based on current traffic conditions.
   
   
   
3. Start navigation: Once you're ready, tap "Start Navigation".

⚙️ Settings in Android Auto

Via the gear icon at the top right in the app, you can adjust important settings for your navigation:

🗺️ Display & Map

Here you can influence how the map looks and which information is displayed:

• Route display: Shows traffic conditions or speed information along the route.
• Notifications: Enable alerts for construction sites, closures, or other traffic events.
• Traffic: Displays traffic flow as colored lines (green, yellow, red).
• Traffic lights: Displays known traffic light positions on the map.
• House numbers: Shows house numbers at low zoom levels for better orientation.
  
  

🧭 Navigation

In this section, you will find options related to the display during the drive and the behavior of the navigation:

• Zoom during navigation: Determines whether the map automatically zooms in or out to Near, Standard, or Far.
• Avoid toll roads: Automatically avoids routes with toll fees.
• Navigation view: Switch between 2D, 2D North, and 3D map display.
• Unit system: Choose between metric and imperial systems (e.g., km or mi).
• Additional route information: Shows you gas stations or charging stations along the way.
  
  
  
  

🔊 Audio

Here you control how you are acoustically informed during the drive:

• Sounds: Turns all system sounds in the app on or off.
• Navigation instructions: Enables or disables voice prompts (e.g., "Turn right in 200 m").
• Notification tone only: Instead of voice, only a short alert tone at turns.
• Hazards: Acoustically warns you of nearby hazards, such as construction sites or accidents.

ℹ️ Notes

• NUNAV automatically considers closures, traffic disruptions, and real-time data.
• During the drive, you receive clear visual and voice instructions.
• The app also shows you the estimated arrival time and remaining distance.

Why doesn't NUNAV start automatically with Android Auto?
→ Please check if you have the latest version of the app and if the necessary permissions (location, display over other apps, etc.) are granted.
