In the NUNAV Navigation App, parking spaces are represented on the map as "P" symbols. This information comes from the open map database OpenStreetMap (OSM) and helps you park directly at or near your destination.
Blue "P" = Parking option around the destination (green flag).
🔍 Meaning of Parking Symbols
| Symbol | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 🅿️ | Public, free parking (according to OSM) |
| 🅿️ + € | Paid parking (e.g., parking ticket or barrier) |
| 🅿️ + Roof | Covered parking = Parking garage or underground parking |
| 🅿️ + € + Roof | Paid parking garage or underground parking |
Here is an example:
👉 Interactive Parking: Navigate Directly There
- In the NUNAV App, you can tap directly on the parking spaces in the map. Once you click on a 🅿️ symbol, a small info area opens with details – e.g., whether the parking is paid or covered.
- Simply tap on "Navigate" – and NUNAV will guide you directly there.
- 💡 Especially helpful if you want to specifically target a parking garage or a particular parking spot!
❓ Why Do I Sometimes Not See Parking Spaces?
- There are no parking data in OSM for your destination.
- Your destination is on a site without public parking areas (e.g., company premises).
💡 Tips for Better Parking Display
- Enter exact addresses with house numbers whenever possible.
- Zoom out slightly to discover surrounding parking areas.
- If necessary, you can add missing parking spaces directly to OpenStreetMap.
⚠️ Note on the Accuracy of Parking Data
The displayed parking options are based on OpenStreetMap data, which is maintained by a worldwide community. They are often very helpful, but can also be:
- outdated,
- incomplete, or
- inaccurate.
If you notice something is wrong (e.g., barrier not recorded, space no longer exists), you can either correct it in OSM or report it to our support – we appreciate any feedback!
Thank you for using NUNAV 💙
