In some Android versions, NUNAV does not automatically appear as an app icon in the launcher. The app is installed but hidden by the system. With the following steps, you can make the icon visible again.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open Settings
- Pull down the notification bar.
- Tap on the gear icon (Settings).
2. Search for “Android Auto”
Use the search field at the top and enter:
- Android Auto
Depending on the manufacturer, the menu item may have a different name.
3. Open “Customize Launcher”
In the advanced Android Auto settings, you will find the menu item:
- Customize Launcher
- (sometimes also: “Show apps in car” or “Configure app launcher”)
4. Enable NUNAV
In the app list, you will see various switches. Look for NUNAV and:
- check the box or
- enable the switch.
After that, the NUNAV icon will reappear in your smartphone's Android launcher.
Why does this happen?
Some Android systems and manufacturers hide apps that do not provide their own launcher icon. NUNAV is treated by Android as a navigation module and can therefore be hidden. Through the Android Auto settings, you can control whether NUNAV is visible.
Summary
Settings → search for “Android Auto” → Other Android Auto settings → Customize Launcher → Check the box for NUNAV
