With the audio settings, you can determine which information NUNAV provides during navigation and how it is delivered.
Sounds
Enables or disables all sound outputs from NUNAV. If this option is disabled, neither voice announcements nor notification sounds will be provided.
Navigation Instructions
Turns voice announcements for turn-by-turn directions and route information on or off. If this option is disabled, navigation will be conducted solely via the map display.
Use Stereo Channels
If your vehicle or headphones support stereo audio, navigation announcements can be delivered through the left or right speaker depending on the driving direction. This makes turn-by-turn directions even more intuitive.
Notification Tone Only
Instead of spoken navigation instructions, only a short alert tone will sound before a driving maneuver. This setting is particularly useful if you do not want voice announcements.
Hazards
Enables or disables warnings about hazards along your route.
Traffic Information
If this option is enabled, NUNAV will read out traffic information when you tap on it during active navigation.
Custom Volume
Allows for separate volume control for NUNAV, independent of your device's general media volume.
Adjust Speech Synthesis
Opens the Android system settings for speech synthesis. There you can, for example:
- change the language,
- select a different voice,
- download additional voices,
- adjust the speaking speed.
Search in Play Store
Opens the Google Play Store so you can install additional speech synthesis modules if your device supports them.
Pause Other Playback
During a voice announcement, other audio sources – such as music or podcasts – are briefly paused and then resumed (depending on the player and vehicle used).
Audio as Phone Call (HFP)
Delivers voice announcements via the Bluetooth hands-free profile (HFP). This setting can be helpful if voice announcements are not audible through normal media playback.
Device Speaker as Fallback
If a Bluetooth connection cannot be used, voice announcements will instead be delivered through the smartphone's speaker.
Note
Depending on the Android version or device manufacturer, individual options may vary slightly or not be available.
