Can I actively avoid highways in NUNAV Navigation?

Yes – in the current version of NUNAV Navigation, it is possible to intentionally avoid highways.

Here’s how it works:

• Open the route overview (“Route preview”)
• Tap on “Avoid”
• Enable the option “Avoid Motorways”

After that, the route will be automatically calculated to avoid highways whenever possible.

Important Note

Avoiding highways may lead to a longer travel time. Our routing still takes current traffic conditions into account and tries to find the best possible alternative.

Why is this option available?

NUNAV is based on a collaborative routing approach. Traffic is intelligently distributed to reduce congestion and improve overall travel time for everyone.

With the “Avoid Highways” option, we additionally offer more flexibility for individual preferences – without compromising the quality of route guidance.
